Lindsay & Kyle’s Wedding at Whispering Pines Venue in Henderson NC

Lindsay and Kyle’s Whispering Pines wedding in Henderson, North Carolina took place on a beautiful day that could not have turned out better. I provided music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception, and everything flowed seamlessly from one part of the property to the next.

Their ceremony took place behind the lodge on the stone patio, with the retaining wall and trees creating a gorgeous natural backdrop. The weather was perfect, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and intimate. Clear microphones and smooth music transitions kept the focus exactly where it needed to be. The ceremony space behind the lodge created a beautiful backdrop for Lindsay and Kyle’s Whispering Pines wedding.

After the ceremony, guests made their way through the lodge to the courtyard in front for cocktail hour. With the fountain and lake view setting the tone, I kept a wireless speaker outside while also maintaining music inside the lodge for guests moving between spaces. No gaps, no awkward silence, just steady ambiance as everyone transitioned into the evening.

Dinner and toasts led into cake cutting, and immediately after that, the ice cream truck arrived for dessert. Guests loved stepping outside to grab a scoop before open dancing began. Doing it before the dance floor officially opened kept the energy high without pulling people away once the party started.

Instead of beginning the night with a traditional anniversary dance, Lindsay and Kyle did something completely unique. They invited guests onto the dance floor based on how long they had known them. If you’d known them since birth, grade school, middle school, high school, college, or professionally, you were called out to join them. It filled the dance floor quickly and created a meaningful moment before open dancing kicked off.

From there, the dance floor stayed packed. The music moved from country to R&B to rock and pop, and the crowd never slowed down. Instead of a bouquet toss, they did a t-shirt toss, which brought a fun, modern twist and had everyone reaching into the air.

One of the things that stood out most about this wedding was how important music was to the couple. Kyle had curated playlists for each part of the day — pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception. I took what they built and expanded on it to keep the flow natural while maintaining their exact vision. The energy stayed high all day long.

After the wedding, Lindsay shared this:

“Joey went above and beyond our expectations for our wedding DJ. The music was very important to my husband so he had curated pre-set playlists to give to Joey. Joey took my husband’s playlist for the different parts of the day and expounded on them. The vibes were high the whole day. However, not only did Joey keep the music and energy going, he was also very helpful as a wedding timeline keeper and coordinator. Genuinely, I think he was more helpful than my day-of coordinator from a timeline perspective. To top everything off, his prices are more than fair. I would recommend Joey 10 out of 10 times.”

An amazing day. An incredible crowd. And a dance floor that never emptied.
