Sanford NC Wedding DJ | Laura and Daniel’s Family Farm Celebration

Laura and Daniel’s wedding on a family farm in Sanford was one of those days where everything just clicked.

From the very start, it was clear this wedding was going to be personal, intentional, and full of moments that truly reflected who they are as a couple.

The ceremony took place outdoors on a beautiful spring day, with every song carefully chosen. The parents were seated to Somewhere Over the Rainbow, the guys walked in to Blackbird by The Beatles, and the ladies entered to a violin version of Pink Pony Club. Laura made her entrance to Nuvole Bianche by Ludovico Einaudi, creating a moment that felt both elegant and emotional.

And then… the recessional.

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

An absolutely perfect, high-energy way to celebrate the moment they were officially married.

The ceremony itself was officiated by a close friend, which made everything feel even more personal and relaxed. Every part of it felt tailored specifically to Laura and Daniel.

Perfect Timing (Even the Weather)

After the ceremony, everyone moved under a tent in the backyard for cocktail hour. Just as dinner was getting started, the rain came in.

Perfect timing.

With the sides of the tent zipped up, the temperature dropped from warm to comfortable, and the sound of the rain actually added to the atmosphere. It created a cozy, intimate vibe that you just can’t plan.

A Couple Who Trusted the Process

Laura and Daniel were very clear about the music they loved, but they also gave me the freedom to read the room and build the night the right way.

During cocktail hour and dinner, we leaned into the slower side of their playlist, setting the tone and letting people settle in.

Then came the formal dances.

Their grand entrance flowed right into their first dance, which featured a waltz they had learned together. There was a quick restart due to a song overlap, but honestly, it made the moment even better. The crowd laughed, the couple stayed relaxed, and we reset like pros.

Sometimes those little moments end up being the most memorable.

A Perfectly Timed Joke That Brought the House Down

During the parent dances, Daniel danced with his mom to Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.

But before that…

Laura had a surprise planned.

We hit play on Cocaine by Eric Clapton for about 10 seconds. The reactions were immediate. Confused looks, laughter, and then a quick “wrong song” moment before switching into Wonderful Tonight.

Because of the earlier restart during the first dance, the crowd bought it completely.

It landed perfectly.

Laura and her mom followed with Dear Mama by Tupac Shakur, and partway through the song, her brothers joined in and rotated dances. It turned into one of those genuine, emotional moments you can’t script.

A Packed Dance Floor All Night

We opened the dance floor with Just Dance by Lady Gaga, and from that point on, it stayed full.

This crowd leaned a little older, but that didn’t slow anything down. The energy was there from start to finish.

We even had some fun regional moments:

  • North Carolina crowd got All Cities Remix by Petey Pablo
  • Boston crew got I’m Shipping Up to Boston by Dropkick Murphys

Both groups showed up, and the dance floor reflected it.

An Ending Straight Out of SNL

Laura and Daniel are big fans of Saturday Night Live, so we built the ending around that.

At the end of the night, they took a moment to thank everyone for being there. As Daniel wrapped up, I brought in the closing waltz from SNL underneath Laura’s speech.

And right as everything came to a close:

“Live from Sanford… it’s Saturday night!”

The reaction was instant.

The entire crowd erupted.

It was the perfect ending to a night that was already full of unforgettable moments.

Final Thoughts

Even with a little rain and a couple of unexpected moments, this wedding couldn’t have gone any better.

Laura and Daniel created a day that was completely their own. From the ceremony music to the inside jokes to the packed dance floor, every piece of it reflected who they are.

Those are the weddings people remember.
