Rachel and Ryan’s wedding at The Highgrove Estate in Fuquay Varina brought together beautiful weather, a relaxed atmosphere, and a packed dance floor that stayed full all night long. From the outdoor ceremony to the final private last dance, every part of the evening felt personal, energetic, and centered around celebrating with family and friends.

As a Triangle wedding DJ, I always appreciate weddings where the couple creates an atmosphere that feels natural and welcoming for their guests. Rachel and Ryan did exactly that throughout the entire day.
A Beautiful Friday Wedding Ceremony at The Highgrove Estate
Rachel and Ryan’s Friday wedding at The Highgrove Estate had an incredible atmosphere from the moment guests arrived.
The ceremony space at The Highgrove Estate is absolutely stunning. Guests walked through the back of the property to a beautiful ceremony lawn framed by three arbors with an outdoor chandelier hanging in the center where Rachel and Ryan exchanged vows. The elevated backdrop behind the ceremony area gave everything an open, scenic feel that looked incredible throughout the evening.
Nothing about the wedding felt overly formal or stiff. Everyone was simply excited to celebrate together, and with a large wedding party featuring eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen, the ceremony felt full of energy while still staying personal and emotional.
Outdoor Cocktail Hour and Reception Flow
After the ceremony, guests moved into cocktail hour outside near the covered bar area behind the house. The layout of The Highgrove Estate works incredibly well for weddings because every portion of the day naturally flows into the next while still giving guests a different atmosphere in each space.
Rachel personally selected all of the cocktail hour and dinner music, which helped give those portions of the evening a very personal feel. I always enjoy when couples build playlists that reflect their style because it helps create an even more authentic atmosphere for their guests.
Dinner took place inside the enclosed reception space with around 130 guests seated across 13 tables. The plated dinner service moved smoothly throughout the evening and gave everyone a chance to relax before the dance floor officially opened.

Heartfelt Moments Throughout the Reception
Following dinner, Rachel’s father gave the evening’s only toast before we moved directly into the parent dances. Rachel shared a beautiful dance with her father followed by Ryan dancing with his mother.
One of the most emotional moments of the night came when Rachel dedicated her bouquet to her mother before she and Ryan stood together to thank everyone for coming to celebrate with them.
Before opening the dance floor, we brought every guest out to the middle of the room for one giant group photo. While everyone gathered together, I played Centerfold which gave the moment a fun, upbeat energy before transitioning directly into the start of dancing.
The second the photographer gave the all clear, I dropped I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) and the dance floor exploded immediately.
A Packed Dance Floor All Night Long
The dance floor opened a little before 8:00 PM and stayed packed for the next two straight hours.

What made this crowd especially fun was how willing they were to go everywhere musically. Throughout the night we mixed everything from throwback party songs and singalongs to newer dance music, 90s R&B, hip hop, and wedding classics. Rather than staying at one energy level all night, we rolled the energy up and down to give people room to breathe before bringing the momentum right back again.
That pacing helped keep the dance floor full all evening long.
The final dance floor song of the night was Children’s Story which turned into one huge singalong before guests headed outside for the sparkler exit.
A Meaningful Private Last Dance
Before the night officially ended, Rachel and Ryan shared one final private last dance together inside the reception space.

They chose Another Leaf by Charles Wesley Godwin, a unique and emotional song choice that perfectly matched the atmosphere of the evening. It was the perfect quiet ending to an incredibly fun celebration.
