Some weddings just feel different the moment you arrive, and this was one of them.
Brooke and Brennon chose Castle McCulloch for their wedding, and it is easily one of the most unique venues in North Carolina. From the stone exterior to the drawbridge entrance, it creates an atmosphere that feels more like a destination wedding than something right here in the Triad.
The ceremony took place inside the castle, set in front of the large wooden doors beneath a stunning stained glass window. Guests were escorted across the drawbridge and into their seats, which immediately set the tone for the day.
The entrances were perfectly matched to the space. The groom and groomsmen approached from the back of the castle, while the bride and bridesmaids made their way down from the upper level. It created a natural sense of anticipation that built right into the ceremony.
As Brooke made her entrance, everything came together. The light coming through the window behind them, the setting inside the castle, and the energy in the room made for a moment that felt straight out of a movie.
After the ceremony, the celebration moved into the Crystal Garden Ballroom. This circular room is surrounded by windows overlooking the grounds and centered by a teardrop chandelier that gives the space an elegant but relaxed feel.
One of the standout moments of the reception was the grand entrance. The bridal party formed a canopy of swords, and Brooke and Brennon entered underneath it. It was a perfect match for the venue and one of those moments that guests will remember long after the night is over.
Castle McCulloch is a venue that does a lot of the work for you. The setting is already built to impress, which allows the focus to stay on the couple and the experience of the day.
If you are planning a wedding in the Triad and want something that feels completely different from a traditional ballroom or barn, this is a venue worth taking a look at.
