Chapel Hill NC Senior Community DJ | Sock Hop at The Villas at Culp Arbor

It was great to return to The Villas at Culp Arbor for another neighborhood social event. I was truly honored to be invited back once again by their social committee, and this latest sock hop turned into another fantastic afternoon of music, dancing, and community fun.

Returning to The Villas at Culp Arbor

The Villas at Culp Arbor is a 55+ neighborhood in Chapel Hill, and the residents always bring such an incredible energy to these events. From the moment the music started, people were ready to relax, socialize, and spend the afternoon enjoying great music together.

The event ran from 4:00 to 6:00 and carried everyone right through the late afternoon into dinner time. Residents gathered with glasses of wine, snacks, and plenty of laughter while spending time together on the dance floor and around the room. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and full of great energy from start to finish.

Music from Every Decade

Even though the event was themed as a sock hop, the playlist covered a wide variety of music from several decades. Throughout the afternoon we moved through 50s and 60s classics, mixed in favorites from the 70s and 80s, and even jumped into some 90s country for a few special line dances.

One of the unique things about events at Culp Arbor is that the neighborhood has a resident who helps lead line dancing for the community. Before the event, they provided several songs that everyone could jump up and dance to together. It always adds such a fun and personal touch to the afternoon when the entire room joins in at once.

Community Events That Bring People Together

What always stands out most at events like this is how much these communities genuinely enjoy spending time together. Music has a way of bringing people together, and afternoons like this are a perfect reminder of how much fun a great neighborhood event can be.

I had an absolute blast DJing this sock hop at The Villas at Culp Arbor, and I am already looking forward to coming back again for another great event.
