Craig and Maria’s wedding at The Parlour at Mann’s Chapel in Chapel Hill was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. As a Chapel Hill wedding DJ, I always enjoy working at a venue like this, especially with a crowd that brings this kind of energy. With around 50 to 60 guests, the entire day felt personal, relaxed, and fun from start to finish.
Ceremony in the Garden
The ceremony took place in the garden area, and it could not have been more beautiful. The venue itself is a restored historic church, which gives the entire property a unique and intimate feel. Surrounded by greenery and natural light, it set the tone for the rest of the day.
Cocktail Hour on the Veranda
After the ceremony, guests moved to the covered veranda for cocktail hour. Being just steps from the ceremony space made for a smooth transition, and it gave everyone a chance to relax, grab a drink, and enjoy the setting before heading inside.
Reception Inside the Chapel
Dinner and dancing took place inside the chapel, and the flow of the evening was seamless. After the grand entrance, Craig and Maria went straight into their first dance as husband and wife, followed by a quick welcome before guests were invited to enjoy dinner.
A Packed Dance Floor
Once dinner wrapped up, we opened the dance floor with “Boogie Wonderland” by Earth, Wind & Fire, which set the tone right away.
From there, the night was a perfect blend of early 2000s and 2010s pop mixed with Latin favorites. With Maria’s Hispanic background, we worked in cumbia throughout the evening along with artists like J Balvin and Bad Bunny. Spreading those songs out kept the energy consistent and the dance floor full.
We also mixed in crowd favorites like Usher, Chris Brown, and Katy Perry. While they didn’t want much Taylor Swift during dancing, we made sure to include a few songs during cocktail hour to keep everyone happy.
A Perfect Ending
To close out the night, we created a really special moment with a private last dance for just Craig and Maria. With the room cleared, they had one final moment together before their grand exit with fiber optic wands.
It was the perfect ending to an already incredible day.
