Not every event I provide sound for includes a dance floor.

This week I had the opportunity to provide sound, wireless microphones, and background music for the groundbreaking of a new affordable housing community at the corner of Page Road and Chin Page Road in Durham.
The project, led by Lincoln Avenue Communities, will bring new two- and three-bedroom affordable housing options to the area. Community members, project partners, elected officials, and local media gathered to celebrate the start of construction and hear about the impact the development will have on Durham families.
Durham Mayor Leonardo Williams was among the speakers during the ceremony. The event also drew coverage from WTVD 11, CBS 17, and Spectrum News, highlighting the importance of the project to the community.

For events like this, clear audio is just as important as it is at a wedding reception. Guests need to hear the speakers, media outlets need clean audio for coverage, and organizers need confidence that everything will run smoothly. My role was to provide the sound system, wireless microphones, and music throughout the event so the focus could stay on the speakers and the project itself.
While most people know Joey’s DJ Service for weddings and celebrations, I also enjoy being part of community events like this one. It’s always rewarding to work on projects that bring people together and celebrate positive growth in our area.
The groundbreaking marked the beginning of a development that will provide much-needed housing opportunities for local families, and it was great to see so many community leaders, partners, and residents come together to support the project.
Thank you to Lincoln Avenue Communities and everyone involved for allowing Joey’s DJ Service to be part of this important day for Durham. I look forward to watching the project take shape over the coming months and seeing the positive impact it will have on the community.
