The father-daughter dance is one of the most meaningful moments of the night. It’s a chance to pause the celebration for a moment and recognize a relationship that has been there from the very beginning.
The best song isn’t always the most popular one. It’s the one that feels right for both of you.
How to Choose the Right Song
There’s no single “perfect” choice. Some couples go with something emotional, while others prefer something lighter or even a little unexpected.
A few things to consider:
- Choose a song that reflects your relationship
- Don’t feel like it has to be overly emotional
- Shorter songs or edited versions often work best
- You can always fade out early if needed

A Quick Tip
There’s no right or wrong length for this moment.
I usually recommend dancing for at least 90 seconds so your photographer has time to capture the moments you’ll want to remember. After that, you can go as long or as short as you’d like.
I’ll keep an eye on you during the dance, and whenever you’re ready, you can give me a signal and I’ll fade the song out naturally. Or, if you prefer, we can let it play all the way through.
