Groove at the Grove at Jeffreys Grove Magnet Elementary School was such a fun way to wrap up the school year. With several hundred students, parents, teachers, and families spread across the campus, the entire evening had a great atmosphere from the moment everything got started.
The event ran from 5:00 to 7:00 pm and gave families a chance to relax, hang out together, and celebrate the end of another school year.
Music Across the Entire Campus
The main field was packed with bounce houses, games, music, and families enjoying the evening together. Down near the lower playground area, the school’s garden club was selling plants the students had grown throughout the year along with student artwork and other projects.
For this event, I provided sound coverage for both the main field and the lower playground area using an auxiliary speaker setup so announcements and music could still be heard clearly throughout the campus. With events spread out across multiple areas, keeping everything connected with music and announcements really helps the entire evening flow smoothly.
The “Let’s Groove” Dance Surprise
One of the highlights of the night was the school wide dance to “Let’s Groove” by Earth, Wind & Fire.
We kicked it off as a surprise at 6:15, and once the music started, students, parents, and staff all jumped in together. It was one of those really cool moments where the entire event seemed to stop for a few minutes while everybody danced together.
Then right at 7:00 pm, we played it one more time so everyone could dance their way out of the event as the night came to a close.
Groove at the Grove was an awesome way to close out the school year, and it was great seeing the entire school community come together for such a fun and relaxed evening.
